  Title : Confusing Situation

  QUESTION:

Marty, I am a singer/songwriter/guitarrist. I've been writing songs for nearly 10 years. I have embraced an interesting variety of styles - from smooth and slow to fast and hard - yet avoiding extremes. This way, I could express myself. Lately, I've been listening to my stuff differently. I don't get the same response from me anymore. Almost all of those songs sound boring and uninteresting. The problem is that I've got tons of songs, plans and invested money! Boy, am I confused in a situation like this... what would you do? Roy

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

You are sure asking the wrong person...I try to go for the extremes whenever possible. My advice is work with other people as much as possible. Often times a great collaboration is more interesting what you can conceive alone. Good luck.
