  QUESTION:

hi marty,
i wonder what u think about non-chromatic notes special to eastern music. Strange scales are used in my country(Turkey). A scale has C C# and C#2 as an example.
You use half-note bends passing thru those notes. Most west-origined musicians find them unacceptable and threat them as fault notes. But in east, they give a lot of emotions and takes the music one step further...
So?
One more q: What guitar(s) did u use in music 4 speeding? Les Paul fits u well i think...

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

I think I know what you mean. Quarter tones. Most of the time they just sound out of tune to the Western ear, but sometimes, when done nicely, can be absolutely beautiful.
I used many guitars on MFS, Gibson, Ibanez, Fender, Jackson, Fernandes. I use Ibanez exclusively now.
