Dear Marty, my english isn't really good, because I'm from germany but I hope you can understand what I'm writing to you. Now I'm 14 years old and playing now for 10 years. I starded with the age of 4 and I think I'm not bad, but everytime I'm hearing you I get jealous and I despair. So how could I get as good as you are? Don't say you have to practice all the time, because I#m doing that, every day about 2 hours. So are there any hints you can give me. And I have another question, in one and a half year Iwant to go to japan, is teher any chance to have a workshop with you?

I got news for you. You will never be "as good as" I am. By the same token, I will never be "as good as" you will eventually be. An important thing to remember is each musician develops in his or her OWN INDIVIDUAL way. So, the longer you keep making music, the deeper, more personalized and individual your style becomes. I will never be "as good as" Jeff Beck at being Jeff Beck. He is the best at that. That said he will never be "as good as" I am at being me. Not that either of us would want to...:) Good luck. |
