Hey! First of all, let me tell you that you're just great! I worship you as a guitarist, but then today I was going through this question answer section, and what struck me is the way you answer every question! A particular reply of your's really caught me, where you said "Also, don`t look to your fave musicians for religious guidance, we are all a bunch of nuts!". I mean how can you be so humble and down to earth. That is so unlike the typical rockstar attitude. Why does a rockstar have an attitude anyways? I have followed a great deal of rock / metal, and have found very few people like you, like Paul Gilbert. You two make a superb group (the rock fujiyama performance just blew me off!!) and is it possible for you and him to perform more often, coz I think that would be no less than social work! Also, are you actually a self-taught musician? I hope you would reply to this; sorry for making it so long!! cheers! |

Rock is not brain surgery or architecture, there are a lot of much more difficult and praiseworthy occupations that should command adulation left and right, but it`s easy to get an attitude in rock because you get a lot of praise at an early age with only a marginal amount of effort. If you let that get to you it can really get in the way of your ultimate goal which is to make good music that you enjoy. Most of the good musicians I know are extremely humble. They are usually too busy learning, so they don`t have time to become assholes. |
