Hi Marty, im a 21 year old guitarist from Singapore who has just bought a guitar sometime during May last year. And i find that i have difficulties advancing in guitar because of financial problems. I have to pay for almost everything that i own including my own bills. Plus.. My parents are not supportive of me playing heavy metal music at all. With only 400 dollars per month from my contribution to the Army (National Service), i find the situation really stressful. National Service is a COMPULSORY part of life for all males aged 18 and above in Singapore to practise "Total Defence" of our tiny country for 2 years. And during this time it is illegal to find a job with a higher salary outside.
With lack of money, i cannot afford to attend theory lessons outside and i find that i will not be able to improve just by playing guitar tabs at home. I find that lessons are really important to me as i really need to hear explanations about the theory from a teacher, if not i will not be able to understand. The main purpose for me to learn theory is that i wanna be able to create my own music rather than playing covers all the time.
So pls Marty.. I really hope to hear some advice frm u. Thanx a lot. \m/ rock on! \m/ |
