QUESTION: |
|
|
After first listening to your guitar style from the Rust in Piece Album, you slowly changed a style of music from something much crazier and panicky, then turning it into something that seemed different but so familiar at the same time. I'm sure you've gotten tons of question about replaying songs from your Megadeth carrier, but I recently began listening to your old former band, Cacophony, and I then discovered the sad story about Jason, but learned about how he is still able to compose, which is fortunate, in a limited situation, and I'm sorry such a good friend had to burn out like that. Anyway, I was wondering if you have ever considered picking up another suitable guitarist, and for the sake of that incredible style of music, would play a show where you replayed all of your Cacophony songs or even a handful of them. There's something about that band that was so different than what was going on, it was truly ahead of it's time, and still maybe is. |

"another suitable guitarist " ??
With all due respect to all the great players out there, is there really anyone who can do Jason`s playing justice?
The music we made together was a part of history that was awesome, and that`s that.
I`ve grown so much as a musician since then, my musical sense is so much deeper and more advanced than those early records, as a result of stretching my boundaries every single day since those days. I rarely listen back to what I`ve done in the past, as with every single musical endeavor, I make sure it is as perfect as I can make it, subconsciously learn from any mistakes and/or good points, then let it go and move on to the next challenge.
Jason has made and continues to make absolutely huge strides as a musician despite the hardest circumstance imaginable, not to mention inconceivable growth as a human being. He is a constant inspiration to me.
"a good friend had to burn out" is a very incorrect and poor choice of words. I am sure your heart is in the right place as you only know from the music and not the personal dynamics involved.
I`m glad you like the music, my friend!
