  QUESTION:

Since being a musician isnt concidered by many to be a valid career choice and the entire music scene has been transformed into this superficial thing where you dont need to have real talent to be huge but the people who do such as yourself may not get as much recognition as they should. all of which is sickening, to me anyway. Do you have any advice on how a person would be able to survive while doing something they love?

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

[the entire music scene has been transformed into this superficial thing where you dont need to have real talent to be huge} Huh? This is a false statement...You need to adjust your thinking- In the world of music and entertainment in general, talent is not the ability to sing, play an instrument or write a song well, talent is the ability to create something that makes a large number of people happy enough to spend their hard earned money. This is the way it has always been and the way it should be. Also if you are doing something you truly love, you will likely not be so concerned with how much `recognition` you get or don`t get. You have to make the music that represents you best the absolute best you can and if you are clever, survival will take care of itself. Good Q and best of luck to you.
