  Title : Guitar endorsements

  QUESTION:

Marty, Why do you pro players change guitar endorsements like other people change their underwear? It seems most professional guitar players can't make up their mind about what brand or model to play. And every single time one of you change to a new brand, you repeat the same tired old garbage over and over again: "XYZ Guitars make the best guitars in the world!" or "My new signature model from XYZ is the best guitar I have ever played!". Somehow every single new guitar you switch to ends up being the best you have ever played. Megadeth is a good example. Dave Mustaine started out with B.C. Rich, then he switched to Jackson, then to ESP and now he is endorsing Dean Guitars. I expect him to switch to Ibanez or Hamer next year. So...what do you have to say?

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

Fair question I guess, but simple. Most pro instruments are really well made, but pros usually play music for a long time, over the course of their careers needs change, styles change, artists evolve.
