Do you think a lot of guitar players in music nowadays forget the important concept of Melody and Harmony in music. It seems, that everyone wants to do sweeps and play scale excercises faster than the next guy at the music store. What ever happened to making solos sounding like a story with feeling and emotion. Who is this "everyone" you are talking about? Certainly not anyone making a living playing music, or on the radio or the sales charts. The only people who care about that kind of stuff are the beginners and amateurs-believe it! Ignore that and make the kind of music you enjoy, whatever it is.
