my questions:
1) I was wondering, what artists inspired to write songs like Speed Metal Symphony and Concerto specifically? (My guess is classical or romantic dudes) And the "middle" sections of each song that usually was some awesome harmony, what artists inspired those?
2) Do any of the influences that you listened to back then inspire you now? I know you listen to what is considered less "guitar oriented" music (like Garbage, and I am certainly not knocking that kinda music though!)
3) Jason was f##king amazing, wasn't he? I knew you guys drew inspiration from each other back then (especially him from you!!) Do you draw any inspiration from his music that is released now? (like, do you look back at Perpetual Burn and draw inspiration, or even something like Raspberry Jams, or the other assorted Jams Jason has yet to release...can't Wait!!)
Anyways, I really hope you answer this question, cuz not only am I a huge fan, but I think it is a pretty good question that many people are wondering themselves! Oh yeah, the new material sounds great! My twin brother and I just stared at each other and smiled when we heard it. Kick A$$....

Thanx Ian, here we go.
1. Jason and I were both very into Philip Glass at the time, hence the odd arpeggios all over the place.
2. Huh? Garbage is TOTALLY "guitar oriented" ! I'm kind of 'over' the novelty of placing arpeggios in odd time sigs but I still love and respect Glass's work.
3. I hear those jams of Jason's and it just makes me miss playing with him. And reminds me how great he is.
