Hey Marty!
I'm 21 years old now, started playing guitar about one year ago, and it’s kind of my life now, along with school. I get home and practice until I pass out.
I know someone that I really respect really much as a guitarist and person, I'm more like in awe every time I meet this guy. Last time I talked to him, he said that I could just call him and then we could jam together or something. My problem is that I'm not that good at playing guitar yet, so I feel that I don't know, I mean I would definitely not impress this dude with my guitar playing, but I want the learning experience from playing with him. Anyway, did you ever encounter this "problem" when you started out playing guitar? And if you did, how did you overcome the feel of “Failing” and just don’t give a shit and just take it as a learning experience?
Thanks for a reply! |

Good Q! Don`t lose this opportunity. Remember, it`s not about `you failing`, it`s about `you surrounding yourself with people you respect`. Think tennis or chess-you always want to play with guys who will beat you. Learn from the experience. Eventually less and less guys will be able to beat you. You will not improve by playing with guys that you easily beat-and it`s no fun either... |
