  QUESTION:

Lately,I've noticed that, besides your outstanding guitarplaying abilities, you also like to incorporate different influences on your albums, for instance on this new "Music For Speeding" you've done mix of pretty much all things. There I can hear techno,I can hear different crazy beats, electronic sounds...how do you feel about that type of music in front of conservative and old school soloing and crazy guitarwork? Do you think that solos are outdated, and what is the future of guitar music...i live in croatia, and here we have vlatko stefanovski,an crazy exotic guitar player from macedonia,he is crazy as hell, using all kinds of exotic, etno notes to his playing.you should check it out.really natural, really sensitive, really cool.

keep on rockin!here in croatia,we're crazy for your stuff!!! :)

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

The future of any instrument depends on how players find ways to keep people interested in hearing it. I believe you absolutely must put guitar in a fresh new context or else it is truly a boring outdated sound. Same thing goes for drums too!
