Title : Chris Haskett - mono guitarist freedom

  QUESTION:

Are you familiar with Chris Haskett's work with the Rollins Band and his solo material? If yes, do you like his work?
He is one of my favorite guitarists. Being the only guitarist in Rollins Band gave him and the bass player (Andrew then Melvin) a lot more room to compose and goof around.

The duo guitar work in Megadeth is, for me, much more precise, and while setting up an almost omnipotent atmosphere and extacy through precision, tightness and drive (it is perfection and I can not really stop listerning to Rust in Peace - ever since 1990) it seemed to lack in emotional variation that a guitarist and bass player can gradually work at together and off each other.

I don't really have a question. I just want to know what you think of Mr Haskett and 'Tearing' by the rollins band and I suppose (big-headed of me) what you think of what I've just written about.

Sorry about the long prose. You, Chris and John Mc Laughlin are my favorite musicians/guitarists. I wish you much power.

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

Thanks for putting me in such good company!
Actually the only Rollins Band song I know is that one with the great video, I think it's called "Liar" and I honestly don't remember a thing about the guitar. The song was very unique though.
