Do you have any advice on theory? I have had some people tell me it's very important, while others say it is useless. I have read somewhere that you make your own theory, and don't follow traditional scales. Is that true? I really don't know much about theory at all, but I can say that I am most interested in Egyptian and Arabian sounding stuff. Any suggestions on what's important to know or what's not?
