Title : where have all the solos gone

  QUESTION:

Hey Marty, do you think the lack of soloing in metal music today is due to little guitar talent or just no desire to play them? I miss burning licks and squeals. Wheres the guitarocity gone in metal today? Theres no new respectable guitar heroes today

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

I believe people, myself included, are bored to tears with the traditional guitar solo, which comes in approximately 2 minutes into the song, after the second chorus and ends on a high E bend on the E string, 22nd fret. I have tried desperately to do things a little more unique with changing that format while still playing intense aggressive guitar. If more players would do the same, maybe the guitar solo will become somewhat more in vogue. Gotta evelve, my friend!
