Hi again Marty. I hope this finds you well.
I had a question about the market for
instrumental new age music in the United States vs. Europe and Asia.
I was fortunate enough to tour in Europe with a
fairly well known metal act and although at the time I enjoyed it, I was always drawn towards a broader 'palette' as you say of
musical colors. As you've said, gunmetal grey became not too much where I was at and since then, I've been composing more new
age pieces for some time now. Have you found the acceptance/marketing of music such as this more prevalent or successful in the US
or elsewhere? Perhaps the best way to shift into this genre? Any insight or thoughts you could give would be wonderful. Take
care and best of luck with everything.
I thank you for your music and inspiration.
Respectfully,
~W. |

Guess what! There is no money in instrumental music! Whatever music you do, you gotta do it because you love doing it and expect
no reward. It is a long road from the start to being an established new age (or any genre) artist when the financial rewards
trickle in. The only way to reap any financial benefits from any kind of music is to not give up, and do it cuz you love it long
enough until you gather up fans of what you do, one person at a time. Best of luck. |
