I recdently purchased ur new DVD
after seeing ur melodic control video/DVD.
Its odd to me that the approaches are complete
opposites. Caring about the notes in the chords and about the chords sure is different from playing phrases to train the ear and play by ear.

I personally enjoyed melodic control more since I am a 3rd year music student in south africa. What are your thaughts on the different approaches? why did u choose this one for the DVD?

There are so many topics to cover in music that it would be easy to make several DVD with completely different content. I`m glad you enjoyed them. The new dvd for me is a lot more valuable because following chords and theory(as in Melodic Control) is something you can learn from many sources, whereas those particular 99 `secret licks` can only be learned from me. I would love to have that kind of `private` info from my favorite guitarists, if Trevor Rabin or Lukather make a dvd like that I will be the first in line to buy it!
