Dear marty
I've recently aqquired some megadeth (rust in peace, countdown to extintion and youthanasia) cds and i was mesmerized by your
playing. I then looked at your site and you say things like only beginners are interested in playing flashy technically challenging
solos. I'm a beginner and Im learning because thats how i want to play. like u did on those albums. you make it sound like its
wrong to want that. I attempt to play shred type stuff because it satisfies me personally. I love melody to dont get me wrong i
love nirvana even though kurt cobain wasnt a great guitarist. when i write music i try to find a bridge between the 2 worlds
lightning fast solos and crunchy riffs and beautiful catchy melodies as well. Im curious 2 know what you think of this being a lot
more experienced than i.
MARTY'S ANSWER:
Like I said in a previous answer, it is important for YOU to have your OWN musical taste. And if you
are becoming a musician, the MOST important thing is to learn how to play the music you like best, WHATEVER THAT IS. Good luck!
