hey marty! guitar the past year has been pissing me off, one thing i noticed is that I got skill to play it, I have been playing for nine years, I am thinking about quitting and hanging it up, i try to listen and play by ear but i have to have the tabs it seems, it just dont seem right to use them any more, I dont know anything about notes or chords i just play and make up stuff, I have always wanted to be as good as you and the other great virtuosas out there, I just dont know what to do, help me

Don't quit guitar, but do quit trying to be "as good as" any of your favorite musicians. If I would have compared myself other players I've heard throughout my career, I would have surely given up! There are so many great players out there. Just play for your own enjoyment and constantly strive to be better, but never compare yourself to anyone else.
