Title : Rock N Roll Greed Question

  QUESTION:

Marty; I'm a huge fan of yours.

Although I've given up my hopes of "Rock Stardom," and practice a different type of phrasing (as an attourney), I had hoped to find the answer to the following question by personal experience, but unfortunately never did.

About how much money does your average rock star pull in a year? I'm not talking U2 or Madonna-type figures here, I just mean your "Average Joe" rock star types.

Does one successful record usually mean that one would not have to work for the rest of their lives?

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

Ha! A big record could possibly make life a lot easier for someone financially, and one "Nevermind" or "Jagged Little Pill" could even set a lot of people up for a long time, but if the money goes to hookers and blow and things like that, you would be surprised how quickly you wind up in the poorhouse...(!)
