hey marty!

I was wondering if you ever get discouraged listening to other guitarists... It seems like every time I listen to guys like yngwie,satriani,etc I get discouraged and want to quit. I know it's not a competition but every time I listen to a guitar player of that caliber it has a negative impact on me. Instead of inspiring me it makes me want to quit.

Do you ever feel like this?

Great question! But you gotta ask yourself this--Are you just impressed with thoes players ability, dexterity or whatever, or do you really actually LIKE THEIR MUSIC? Also, rather than being discouraged, try to use that frustrated feeling in a way to light a fire under your ass to work harder and learn more. Remember--you don`t have to play like those guys who are bumming you out--play your own way. It might not be as hard as you think. Good luck.
