  Title : follow chord changes?

  QUESTION:

Hi Marty, in your instructional videos you always say that you prefer to follow chord changes instead of soloing in only one scale because to play in one scale is boring. I totally agree!. But if playing in one scale is boring, don't you consider it's more challenging to make a good solo or melody playing in only one scale than playing it following the chords? Maybe it would be better if young musicians first train themselves making good melodies in one scale before making good melodies following chords.
P.D. When I read your opinion about the Beatles I immediatly turned off the computer and listened to some of your records to remember that your are my idol not because of your opinions but because of your amazing music.

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

You have a great point about chord progressions, everyone take note. Also your point about opinions is very good too.
