Title : Dont like the beatles?

  QUESTION:

Well, i think Uma Thurman said it best in "Pulp Fiction"... 'You're either a Elvis man, or a bealtes man, you cant have both". And i was never a fan of Elvis. Just not my style, (respect is there) but i was very surprised by your comment about the Beatles. I dont know about 'hippie' culture but i think you have the beatles really confused with bands like the Grateful Dead.

The beatles were a band that pushed the boundries of what was considered right and wrong. Like their latter work. No one was releasing music like theres, or at least that their status. Pushing the envelope with making all types of music and using odd instruments. Like on Sgt. Pepper, George Harrison wrote an almost traditional indian song "Within You Without You" which primarily used a sitar. And this is a 'pop' album? It still sold and people loved it. And underneith it all, creating key-changing melodies etc. But if anything, at least you respect them and at least cant deny their influence on music but as far as the 'decline'. I dont see it like that, i see it more as an 'expansion' or breaking the boundries that were so solid before. If you want to see what they could do. Please listen to "Because". Perfect...

I think you guys are more similar than you think ;)

Oh a question... On your tour, would you consider some actual Cacophony tunes if you hooked up with Jarzombeck again?

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

You have a perfect view of music and if more people understood it that way, there would be a lot less stupid arguing over what's 'good' or 'bad'. I like Coke, you like Pepsi, who knows or cares why, that's the way it is. My guitar tech taught me the riff to "Because"! Gorgeous song.
Also, Ron and I do some Cacophony stuff live, little bits here and there.
