how long were you playing guitar 'til you could make proper guitar solos?

It sounds like some kind of medication to me! I'm still working on proper soloing, but I think I could do it pretty well after about 1 year. Nothing too fancy, but the people listening don't know (or care) how hard or easy something is to play. They just know if you look good and sound good.
