Hi Marty,
I watched the video of Woodstock 99 where you performed with Megadeth. There were thousands of people in front of you, I wonder if you use any certain techniques to calm down yourself. You know, I talked to someone who had his first little gig some weeks ago and he told me, that he was so excited that his hands began to shake and became frigid so he wasn't able to play as good as he used to. So I'm just a little afraid of my first upcoming gig where I'm going to play some really fast patterns that will require well warmed-up fingers.
Nice Greetings from germany!
Andrej
PS: You are one of my biggest influences and I LOVE your music! |

Guess what? There's no other way besides just getting out there and playing. In your life, you will have embarrassing experiences playing live, etc. But you can bet that if you do something stupid once, you will not do it a second time. Tip-the more prepared you are, the less nervous you will be. Also, don't play so fast! With fast playing, you reach a speed where it just sounds tiny and amateurish. Sometimes a well executed run at 120 sounds way 'faster' than a sloppy one at 180. |
