Marty...I would never want to insult you but, what you said in your interview about Jimi Hendrix and the people who listen to him really rubbed me the wrong way. The nicest way that I can say it is, your opinion about the people listening to him and trippin on acid...being the only reason Jimi ever amounted to something is such a load of crap and you know it. I cant think of one person that can play like hendrix could, but you seem to think that every player in every bar sounds just like him. I know a few people that can play all of your solos on rust in peace perfectly, but they cant sound like Jimi did no matter how hard they tried. \"Tripping on acid and rolling around in the mud\" i dont know if anyone let you in on this but there is a way bigger picture than that dude. Maybe you should try listening to some of Jimi\'s tunes first. Also I just happen to be what you would call a stoner (for lack of a better word) and my solos (I think) are better than Brian May\'s Rhapsody solo. Im a stoner and im calling you on that Bohemian Rhapsody solo crap. Why do i not think that you will even respond to this, because you dont want to eat you words. But regarless your still one of my favorite players right up there with Jimi. I hope this opens your eyes a little bit man. Later Marty, you shred. |

I'm just happy that I'm up there with one of your fave players. We don't have to share the same musical opinions. It's all good.
I'm certainly not in the habit of debating about music, but when you said {I cant think of one person that can play like hendrix could,} I felt I owed it to you to introduce you to the names of Robin Trower and Frank Marino. |
