Marty, have you read the interview of john mayer and buddy guy on a recent issue of guitar one magazine? basically john mayer says that 80s metal is cheesy and watching these guys practice 6 hours + a day is cheesy. I personally feel that he has no sense in melody and his music is by far, much more grotesquely distasteful than metal. I can't believe a legend like buddy guy would work with such a boring musician. What do you think of him?

Never heard either of them, but everyone's entitled to an opinion, right? I think that even the hardest core metal fan would admit that the 80's had plenty of cheesy metal music. And the idea of practicing fret tapping for hours on end isn't exactly awe inspiring to me either. But the fact that we all have different opinions is what makes music FUN, so stand by yours!
