Hey Marty! First I'd like to say I love this section of your site. Its nice to see what other guitar players and musicians are wondering and having their questions answered, questions I want to know but would never thought of.
Ok, I know guitar players don't like to disclose how they play things, but this I gotta know!

I just finished tabbing out the acoustic intro to ESP, and the way I tabbed it's fingerstyle. I listen to the album, and it doesn't sound that fingerstylish, plus, I wasn't aware that you did much fingerstyle (I am assuming you wrote that part because you said you still play it in your Story Behind the Song Section.) Is it one guitar fingerstyle or two guitars picked? Hey man, just this once answer a "how to play" question. Thanks!

P.S. I met Jeremy Colson at Namm (a friend of a friend) and he was a cool guy. He looks just a bit older than me (is he like 24?) but is amazing at drums! I told him his playing on your album rocked!

The intro was fingerpicked, and yes I wrote it. However, Jason was a better fingerpicker than I was so I had him fingerpick it, and I overdubbed some picked chords over it. You can enjoy Jason's fingerpicking talents again at the end of "Black Cat".
