Title : saw you on Pop Jam this weekend!

  QUESTION:

Hi! Saw you doing "Ai no Uta-Magenta Rain~ with Nanase Aikawa on TV a few days ago. Cool song!

I always wondered, on Pop Jam and Music Station, does the band play live on stage (and we in TV-land don't hear it), or is the band just totally pretending to play, even for the studio audience? I know the singers are live (mostly, anyway), but I always wondered what the band is doing. (Usually the drummers -look- like they're hitting the cymbals, at least...)

(Also, I have some screen captures from the appearance on my site, for your fans outside Japan): http://www.jrocknyc.com/2004a/01-28.php

Looking forward to the release of "7"! You'll support on her tour again, right?! :D

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

Glad you liked the tune. To make broadcast quality TV setup technically easier, a lot of those shows are done with lead vocals being the only thing done live. That was the case on Pop Jam. All the TV I did with Sera Masanori so far has been real playing, though.
Oh, and yes I do plan to tour with Aikawa Nanase some more this spring to promote "7".
