Marty, I have been playing guitar for a while now and I think I am making improvements. One of my friends, was born with musical talent and he told me that he thinks I don’t have the feel for playing guitar; maybe I should play the keyboard or something else. My question is: do you think if I work hard enough I can get where I need to be? I know that I’m no Marty Friedman, but I try as hard as I can. If I keep trying, do you think ill be alright?

Your friend doesn't know what he is talking about. There is no such thing as 'talent'. Remember this: "talent" is the ability to work harder, longer and never give up under any circumstances, without complaining. If you can do that, you will certainly get where you wanna go.
