Hi Marty,
Read most of yr fans question ,
while most are encouraging of yr music , some asked why are u still doing the old fashion guitar instrumental ?
Being a
guitar music lover ( instrmental or songs), i seriouly think the guitar playing standard has changed over the course of yrs.
However, personally i feel that it shldn't become an excuse of not playing / learning yr instrument well juz because certain
aspect of the instrument is out of trend. Like shredding etc....
On the contrary, isn't it more challenging for an
artist to put out an instrumental record at this pt of time, when so much has been so called tried & doned... Anyway, juz some
thing always makes me ponder.... Pls let me know yr pt of view....
How do u think guitar music will further evolve
?
Grt music u've written or played so far, tks Marty !

Who says shredding = playing your guitar well??? Most
of the players who 'shred' the majority of the time wouldn't last 5 minutes in a professional gig in the studio or live. Believe
it. I got lumped in with the 'shredders' because I started my career on a label that features that kind of guitar playing. I,
like many, are guilty of playing very fast sometimes, and it's usually when I have little of interest to say on the instrument.
But if you think for one minute that I base my music or my career on 'shredding' you are grossly mistaken. Confusing, isn't it?
I appreciate your comments though. |
