Hi Marty, I play in a metal band here in Karrachi, Pakistan. and we do alot fo Megadeth, Metallica.
we composed an instrumental track, and someone told me that my lead solo was offscale... I notice that in your solos you use scales that are not too common with just any guitarist.
I swtiched from the pentatonic scale to exotic, and I even got a bit of Blues in there.
and I was told that you cant switch scales in a solo, but it sounded really good, and if im not mistaken, you use more than one scale in your solos.
Is my solo all wrong, are do the people just not have a lot of soloing knowledge? |

If it sounds good, then it sounds good. There are no rules! Use your ear. However, if people are telling you that what you are doing does not sound good, then you might want to reevaluate what you are doing. Adjust it until you and the others all agree that it is great. |
