  Title : 1-900-Picking speed

  QUESTION:

Marty,
First. I'm not going to thank you for your playing like everyone else because I wouldn't be on your website if I didn't like your style
Second. I have been playing guitar for a while and developing picking speed seems to take forever. I know speed isn't everything and I know it takes time. Please give me some suggestions to help developing my picking speed, for example, I love the end of the solo to Skin o' my teeth.
Any help would be appreciated
Curt

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

{ I know speed isn't everything and I know it takes time.} So many times people answer their own questions. Speed can only be obtained by repetition of repeatable phrases over and over starting at a very slow speed (where it can be played accurately) and very slowly and gradually speeding up. Over a long time. That's it everybody. Then what?
