  QUESTION:

Hey Marty. When you improvise solos on top of chord progressions do you use any guitar theory knowledge to be able to harmonize it really well. My buddy Kyle came up to me recently with an easy chord progression and i actually took the chord names B, A, and F or something and I grabbed my scale book and wrote a solo while improvising with the scales that matched the chord progressions. Do you do something similar to this(of course without having to pull out a scale book, heh)? does it come with practise and study or do you just know what notes sound good with the chords your playing over?? keep rockin' E-Rock
