Hey man, first of all you are an awesome player and no one can match your style, because it is so f***ed up, in a good way. (ie, intentionally targeting notes out of the key and bending them up to an in-key pitch) I mean, if I was teaching a beginner guitar, I would never let him go near your stuff to start with! I don't know how you do it, you must have some sort of super-human brain or something.
But having said that, does your style of playing and your physical style of playing (ie, the way you have your picking hand) influence the style of the guitar body you choose? I was playing BC Rich NJ Warlock and also a Jackson Kelly for a while, but for me, they are very unconfortable to play, especially when sitting down. And it is most comfortable for me to be sitting down when I play. So, I have found that strat-style is by far the most comfortable, so that's what kind of style I get now, always. Does the look (or coolness) of the body-shape influence you? Or do you choose just based on how it feels when you play? Also wanted to say thanks to you as well. I remember writing an email to you a long time ago (1995 I think) and you responded quickly telling me "You have to make the music happen". I think I was complaining about how metal was falling apart or something like that. Anyway, thanks again! |
