Hi Marty. The best and most memorable day of my life is when I saw you get off a bus back in 98. You walked up to me and shook my hand but I didnt have anything for an autograph. And after chatting with you for about 30 seconds, people rushed over to you and kinda shoved me out of a way. By then some security came by and roped off the section and you went on your way. I never got a chance to say "Thanks for being an important role model in my music life." And I mean that with more than just your playing. I know you are a busy person and everything, but do you ever schedule time for things outside of your current music/tours/songwriting such as lessons, meeting fans, jamming, or even discovering other talents that you can benefit from?

Thanks for your kind words, Chris.
Ever since I started the work on MFS, I have been so busy with so many different aspects of music that I have had precious little time for anything else. Today I gave 2 speeches at a commencement ceremony at a music school in Tokyo. It is important to do as many things outside of music as possible to lead a balanced lfe, I believe. |
