  QUESTION:

Hi Marty! I recently watched "Lost in translation", a movie starring Bill Murray in which he lives the experience of an American in Tokyo. Have you seen this movie and did you experience some of the movie's issues yourself? What was the most weird/difficult issue you had to deal with when you started living in Japan?

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

I didn`t like that movie-the premise was too unbelievable. How can someone who chooses to go to the most exciting city in the world to make a million dollars for a day`s work be so bored and depressed? On top of that it perpetuates stupid stereotypes about Japan. It was a chance to have an intriguing story with a wonderful backdrop, like Match Point in London was, but the story was so pointlessly negative and dull, it was impossible to care about any characters. It was a very nice looking film though, shot actually exactly where I live.
