Dear Marty,
I enjoy your musicality a lot! Very creative to my ears and full of feeling. With a few notes you say more than many do when they go up and down the fretboard. You really seem to know your craft and find ease to be on fire while playing. This is why I believe you can share some perspective regarding one situation of mine. I don't understand the reason why people love Jimi Hendrix and I feel bad for ignoring something that is regarded as important in music. I have listened to the main material of his and seen live videos. All of those harmonics people seem to crave, I mean, it sounds as noise to me. There are some awesome musical pieces here and there, but most of it is noise to me. Am I missing something? Am I not understanding the sound of Jimi's? What's the trick there that I am not seeing/hearing?
I thank you in advance for a musical point of view.
Regards,
Nills |

You and I feel exactly the same on the issue. I don`t get it either....It sounds like drugged out noise to me. But one man`s noise is another man`s heavenly golden tones...No person`s musical taste is more valid or important than another`s. A lot of people I respect just LOVE Jimi. I never got it. Thats ok. You like Coke, I like Pepsi, she likes 7up....it`s all good. Differences in taste are vital to enjoying life. |
