  QUESTION:

dear marty, i am a guitar player and songwriter. so far, i have given up many things in order to be stood up by most people i've met in the music world. not to mention the very little consideration i've received when dealing with them. plus, a few of these fellows are long-time friends of mine. i find their actions equivalent to spitting on the band. this has occurred many, many times. how a physician, engineer, lawyer or f1 pilot experience humiliation like this? has it happened to you? how would you deal with it? many thanks

  MARTY'S ANSWER:

Musicians get little respect, until they sell some records, then everyone kisses their asses...there is little in between, so you just have to do what you love and don`t worry about bad (and good) reactions much.
